Boston – The Irish Connection

Boston - The Irish Connection

In Boston, Irish gangs dominated the liquor trade. Mary “Molly” O’Connor ran a speakeasy that doubled as a safe house and smuggling hub for Canadian rum. Her runners tracked inspectors and rival activity with the precision of intelligence officers. When a shipment went missing, Molly served cocktails to every local cop until their attention shifted elsewhere.

Her establishment thrived because she was underestimated. Women in the Prohibition era often moved unnoticed, quietly controlling the flow of information and alcohol alike. The room’s energy, like the cocktails she served, concealed power in plain sight.
